To calculate the end-use cost from concentrated chemical, divide the cost per gallon by the diluted quantity. For example, let’s assume you pay $15.00 for a gallon of cleaning concentrate, and it has a 1:64 dilution (2oz/Gallon). 1:64 yields 65 gallons of product (64 gallons of water plus 1 gallon of concentrate). $15.00 ÷ 65 = $0.23 per ready to use gallon. To determine cost per quart, divide the ready to use cost by four (4 Qts/Gal).
